'October Park'

'October Park'
Original soft-ground etching with aquatint by Carl March.
Three plates, three coloured inks and watercolour tinting.
Printed and painted on Somerset white paper.
Image size 15.5 x 22.5 cm.
Approximate paper size 29.0 x 35.0 cm.
Edition size 150 plus 10 artists proofs.
Each print individually hand made by myself, then numbered and signed.
Available with presentation mount £129.00.

Realistic autumnal study of a park bench and two bicycles.
Sketched directly onto prepared copper plates with crayons, then acid etched several times using traditional intaglio techniques.
Originally sketched when visiting Ghent in Northern Belgium, then completed at a later date in my workshop.
Attracted to the balanced composition of the elegant bench and resting bicycles.
Richly coloured fallen leaves and strong sunlight add extra appeal.
Made many preliminary drawings before starting the plate making process.
Especially pleased with the finished work showing textured lines made by the crayons.
