'After the Shower'

'After the Shower'
Original soft-ground etching with aquatint by Carl March.
Three plates, three coloured inks and watercolour tinting.
Printed and painted on Somerset cream paper.
Image size 15.8 x 8.8 cm.
Approximate paper size 29.0 x 21.0 cm.
Edition size 100 plus 10 artists proofs.
Each print individually hand made by myself, then numbered and signed.
Available with presentation mount £109.00.

Striking pose of a girl stepping from the shower holding her towel, then looking back as if responding to her name.
Sketched directly onto prepared copper plates with crayons, then acid etched using traditional intaglio techniques.
Attracted to the composition of the stylised figure. Bold repeated lines help suggest graceful movement.
Black thick and thin marks exaggerate the model's limbs against the softer background.
Especially pleased with the finished print showing the colours of the three separate plates.
Based on a earlier and smaller etching 'A'.
