Figurative Etchings and Engravings
All works are based upon my own thoughts and observations, some are sketched directly from life with a model others are developed from my imagination. I like to experiment with different drawing media to try and achieve a particular look or feel. Recently I have introduced more background textures to help compliment some of the strong graphic lines. Other images work equally as well with just a few simple lines, less is more.
Each print is individually hand made by myself, works are presented against dark backgrounds to show deckle edge of the papers.

One plate, one coloured ink and watercolour tinting.
Printed and painted on Somerset cream paper.
Image size 15.5 x 13.5 cm.
Approximate paper size 28.0 x 25.0 cm.
Edition size 100 plus 10 artists proofs.

Sketched directly onto a copper plate with a brush and sugar-lift solution, then acid etched using traditional intaglio techniques.
Flowing lines contrast well against the paler background.
Very similar to companion etching called 'Solitary Dreams'.
